Edoardo Bianchi

Edoardo Bianchi

It doesn’t matter very much where and when Edoardo Bianchi was born: what really does matter is what he did after.
His story is that of a true passion for salty water and the Genoa sea: in that sea, where the scirocco blows hard, he trained for two Olympics Games on Tornado. He joined Athens 2004, and Bejing 2008 with his helmsman, Francesco Marcolini, who was among the first to grasp the high-potential of young Edo.
In the meanwhile Edo studies at the University and later on becomes a Naval Engineer graduate.
In 2010 together with his mate, Fabrizio Dragoni, Edo presented a project which will undermine the natrural concept of sailing: Whites Dragons is not a cat to sail “on” water, but to fly “above” it, thanks to the hydrofoil techonology – the same technology which, some time after Whites Dragons, the America’s Cup too will use again.
Starting engineering and construction experience gained with White Dragons, Edo and some friend established the Blacks Composites, a company dealing with composites and particularly with carbon fibers.
However it’s never the time to stop: Edo is a 28 year old sailor and visionaire designer, willing to go further, always looking for new challanges…. stay tuned!
